ASTM-F7P2 Standard X-ray Test Piece Step Wedge
Designed for Periodic Verification of X-ray System Operation
The ASTM E1-RT X-ray test kit is designed for for routine testing to assess operation and ASTM X-ray test object. This part considers only the methods for routine and periodic verification of system operation and function, and therefore requires use of ASTM X-ray test object (

. X-ray step wedges are used to establish quantitative and qualitative methods for evaluating the systems. This practice does not establish minimum performance requirements for any particular application.
This practice is intended to provide the ability to routinely assess the performance of a cabinet X-ray system. This routine assessment can be used to ensure that: the cabinet X-ray system is operational; the imaging performance nominally meets expectation; and any changes in imaging performance are tracked.
